Mole Group’s Project Manager Steve McHugh is taking on his biggest challenge! Not one to shy away from a difficult task, Steve applies this mentality to his work on site with our Mole crew, getting the job done and solving problems.
In July 2018, Steve will be taking on a different type of challenge – a solo channel crossing for charity!
On 2nd July 2018 Steve will be attempting the massive challenge to solo swim the English Channel and raise £20,000 for a number of charities close to his heart. This is a self-funded event that is considered to be the ultimate long-distance challenge. It is approximately 21 miles, but there are variable conditions potentially extend this distance to 30 miles. It is also one of the busiest shipping lanes in the world with 600 tankers passing through and 200 other vessels passing daily.More people have climbed Mount Everest than have swum the English Channel!
Steve is an active member of Tri4Life who provide multisport events for participants and their families and encourages fundraising along the way. Steve is also a member of MerseyTri, an organisation of enthusiastic swimmers, cyclists and runners in the ever-growing field of triathlon and multisport.
