Telecommunications Moling:

Vado needed to install a duct for telecommunications between two buildings at their business address in Cheddar, Somerset. Vado is a leading British brassware manufacturer that provides high quality taps, showers, accessories and fittings to customers worldwide.

The work entailed 2no. drills of 63mm duct, 80 meter shot and a 60 meter shot, including a chamber (for a change of direction in drill route) and draw cord. To enable us to install the chamber close to the building, short sections were completed and installed by moling.

The team encountered very difficult ground conditions. Adverse ground conditions and unknown services affected the planned route meaning the team had to re-survey the area and propose a new efficient route. This included changing the drill to around 70m each and complete a small section of moling. However, the team persevered through the issues on site, and completed the work to the Customer’s satisfaction.
