Frontier Park, New Rising Main

A brisk week for the Mole Utilities crew saw some freezing temperatures whilst completing some 400m of 90mm MDPE SDR11 rising main down a very busy Accrington Road in Burnley.  Frontier Park is a new business district currently under construction which will hopefully have huge employment opportunities for local residence when completed.

The development of Frontier Park saw the need for a foul pump station to be installed and connected to a United Utilities sewer by our client RA Dalton. Mole Group were happy to jump on board and complete the installation with the tight deadline set by the main contractor.

The ground conditions were far from perfect, but our compact 4X drilling rig made swift progress with the installation. The pipework was installed in 100m sections and the onsite team were able to Fusion weld with the assistance of Efusze welding box supplied by Fusion Utilities. We frequently opt for this eco-friendly solution as it needs no external power source and most importantly never lets us down in reliability. Our site team are fully accredited to complete Butt Fusion and Electro Fusion welding on site, with certification to provide continuity on all jobs.

With over 40 years’ experience in trenchless solutions we are able to complete pipeline installations of 25mmOD – 300mmOD in distances from 10m – 180m+ in one single shot. Our compact and versatile rigs make us much more mobile and can help with installations in the most difficult of locations.
