Electrical Cable Installation at the New ALDI Store in Ruthin

Reducing traffic disruption on the main road to Denbigh

Our specialism in underground installation was called in to reduce costs and disruption to traffic by installing a number of electric cables to enable lighting of the signage on the main road to Denbigh.

Main road to Denbigh undergoing horizontal directional drilling for electric cable installation

Mole Group’s team planned and executed 2 directional drill shots, one directly across the road, but beneath it. The other was to drill parallel to the road under the footpath and under the road junction.

This is the first time that Jennings BCE had used HDD, or horizontal directional drilling, and they were impressed with the technique and our team.  This has already led to further work in Wrexham, which is fine by us as we love working side by side with great companies like this.

Our input at the new Aldi site meant there was no disruption to traffic and no disruption to the road or footpath surface. Another benefit is that when a road surface is broken and requires new seams when repaired, these seams can be vulnerable to frost damage when water gets in. Underground cable installation done by HDD means no new seams or scarring are necessary.

Look forward to popping in for a shop when all is complete!
