EV Charging Point Installation - Durham

Installing ducting across the Slip Road of A1(M) to services Washington South/North in Durham to enable EV charging point installation at the services.

The slip roads had to remain open as they provided essential access to the services. MGUL were contacted to directional drill 3no 160mm ducts across the access road whilst always maintaining access.

Careful scope and planning identified there would be existing utilities on the route. A contracted GPR scan was used to determine the location, depth, and type of utility. On-site preparations meant that the drill would be designed to be no more than 500mm away from anything existing. Using our tracking system meant that we knew exactly where the drill was, at any moment and could carefully precision drill and install the ducting to an exact location as desired by the client.

Despite the poor weather site team successfully installed the ducting on time, within budget and the services remained unaffected by the works.
